I was testing a new LNB on SES6, 40.5W using the beacon on 3947.5H. When I switched to the Norsat sidebands appeared on the beacon at +/-22kHz and +/-44kHz.
At first I was worried that there were problems with the synthesiser in the Norsat. However, checking on a lab DC supply there were no sidebands. See analyser plots below. I must have left the 22kHz on when testing outside. It seems that the Norsat 3220 has very little immunity to noise on its DC supply. Has anyone seen this on other Norsat LNBs?
So, make sure that you switch the 22kHz off when using a Norsat 3220 (and maybe others)
