• Is it possible, to receive DAB Streams via satellite with this software too?

C-, Ku- und Ka Band Empfang mit 3 x 125 cm EmmeEsse/Kreiling Satantennen in Ostwestfalen (Germany).
PC Card: TBS 5925. Aktuell genutzte Receiver: Amiko Viper 4K, OB S3 Mini II, Dr HD D15, CT 4100/4100+. :51:

  • Yes, it is possible, as shown above.
The process is the same as when you activate TSReader, TransEdit, or VLC from Crazyscan.

AltDVB does the same thing, only TSR reacts a little slower than TransEdit or VLC, and it decodes the stream, not the player.

One of the new features of this version of AltDVB is that it has integrated other applications, such as those mentioned above, which can be used through the player.

The next version of AltDVB will also include a blindscan, similar to Crazyscan. With this, we can say that the player will serve as a kind of "portal" for functions beyond the usual TV or listening to radio services, as intended by most DVB players.

  • With the new AltDVB, we have access to satellite IP streams. The first test is at 1.0 W where Simmin TV/Radio is transmitted on mux 11056 V,3500, 1/2, S2.
I used the DVB applications implemented in the player through which we can analyze the transmission data and run an IP stream, this time via TSReader.

Here is a first test with the Simmin TV IP stream obtained with AltDVB:

    Hello satesco

how do you make it work with altdvb that tsreader see already clear stream?

you use stream function? but do you add manually any pid to scanned service?

with other software im able to play but maybe altdvb will be easier to see this stream from time to time.

    Best Regards.

  • Here's what you need to do to view these IP streams with AltDVB.

Here are the Unicast and Multicast settings with AltDVB for IP streams
    Multicast settings (recommended):

    AltDVB: Streaming 224.5.6.7 : 1234
    -s TSReader_UDPMulticast {IP} {PORT}

    Unicast settings:
    AltDVB: Streaming 127.0.0.1 : 1234
    -s TSReader_UDPUnicast {PORT} 127.0.0.1

I also made a how-to video for IP streams using:

Sometimes the video stream (display thumbnail) appears in the TSReader window, in which case it can be started and played directly.
