  • thank you very much amigo :)

i know some spanish Broadcast companies use this box for network feeding ..in fact FAN3 used the Novra S75 before thru an old transponder in hispasat

Amino and Antena 3 have announced the first delivery of a live national TV channel over an IP satellite data link in Spain.

Using Amino’s AmiNET125 IPTV STB, La Fundación Antena 3, a non-profit charity supported by Grupo Antena 3, is broadcasting a new free-to-view channel called FAN3 in hospitals.

La Fundación Antena 3 enables hospitals to receive the programs from FAN3 via the Hispasat Satellite. The channel is received over a 2Mb/s one-way satellite link before being decoded with the AmiNET125. The feed is then modulated to an available channel number and made available to all TVs in the hospital.

In addition to the AmiNET125 STBs, German-based DICAS supplied the encoders and Vidactive supplied its Multicast server tailored to hospitals.

  • The method is called MPE. Linux even offers a virtual network interface. You can analyze the stream with wireshark or tcpdump or open up multicast addresses via vlc.

The package dvb-tools contains a util called dvbnet, it supports MPE oder ULE (with the -U argument) however so far I didn't see any ULE stream. Dvbsnoop is also useful for checking which ip addresses and ports are used

First you need to set up dvbnet to listen on the pid. then you need to set hw ether address and Ip address for the created virtual interface and enable it. You need to call this command twice, first call will give an error. Here is an example for pid 101:

    dvbnet -p 101

ifconfig dvb0_0 192.168.238.238 hw ether 00:01:02:03:04:05 promisc up

ifconfig dvb0_0 192.168.238.238 hw ether 00:01:02:03:04:05 promisc up

route add -net 224.0.0.0 netmask 240.0.0.0 dev dvb0_0

    echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/all/rp_filter

    echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/dvb0_0/rp_filter

For closing you need to set the interface down before you can remove it.

    ifconfig dvb0_0 down

    dvbnet -d 0

Interneting streams for us use a multicast ipaddress, that means first octet is between 224-239

I've also seen MPE streams were the source and not the destination ip is multicast.

You could try to set the interface to the unicast destination ip and listen to this ip via vlc then.

  • yes correct they use a old amino box but modulated in analog RF channel !!!..not very good quality solution ..in this case instead i have used another device to modulate thru in digital ..UDP to DVB-T and it works great !

If you have such a device, please make a demonstration on an iptv transponder.

    Thanks :3:

  • I couldn't find any udp stream at 10809 H. So Fan 3 has left this transponder.

Instead, there are some generic streams at 11221 V and 11421 H. Unfortunately, not viewable :3:

I hope I'm not wrong if I say that these radio streams are IP-over-sat. I tried to find out for which provider they are transmitted, but I couldn't find out.

Whoever wants to find out, I provide them with a ts file (host 10 days).

    The Pids are 2001,2002,2003,2004.
