openatv, openpli, openvix, newnigma, vu, etc. ....
modulation="1" QPSK
modulation="2" 8PSK
modulation="3" 8APSK oder doch 16APSK
modulation="4" 16APSK oder 32APSK
64APSK vielleicht modulation="6"
128APSK vielleicht modulation="7"
256APSK vielleicht modulation="8"
Kommen wir zur FEC:
Hier fehlen schon im S2-Modus
1/4, 1/3, 2/5, 6/7
Im S2X-Modus/QPSK stehen bei der VU 13/45, 9/20, 11/20
es fehlen 11/45, 1/4, 4/15, 14/45, 1/3, 2/5, 7/15, 1/2, 8/15, 3/5, 2/3, 32/45, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10
im S2X-Modus/8PSK 25/36, 13/28**, 23/36, 25/36**
hier fehlen 7/15, 8/15, 26/45, 3/5, 2/3, 32/45, 13/18, 3/4, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10
im S2X-Modus/8APSK 5/9-L***, 26/45-L***
im S2X-Modus/16APSK 1/2L, 8/15L, 5/9L, 26/45, 3/5**, 3/5L, 28/45, 23/36, 2/3L, 25/36, 13/18, 7/9, 77/90
hier fehlen 7/15, 32/45, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9
im S2X-Modus/32APSK 2/3L, 32/45, 11/15, 7/9**
hier fehlen 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10, 7/0
Der S2X-Modus/64APSK fehlt komplett mit
32/45L, 11/15, R/5E, 7/9, R/60, 4/5, R/62, 5/6
ebenso der S2X-Modus/128APSK mit
29/45L, 2/3L, 3/4, 7/9
und der S2X-Modus/256APSK mit
31/45L, 32/45, 11/15L, 3/4

For the thread "small talk" I think the topic is actually too important.
The Word should be addressed to all software writers. I will probably not reach the manufacturers, but maybe those like
openatv, openpli, openvix, newnigma, vu, etc.....
Regardless of whether the tuner used in the box is suitable for this or not, uniform designations should be created.
Above all, it's about the modulation and the FEC, which somehow got stuck at the "DVB-S" stand.
At VU they tried half-heartedly to integrate S2X. But the fact is that you can't even select all S2 modes, I don't even want to talk about the S2X.
modulation="0" auto, a solution for emergencies or the uninitiated
modulation="1" QPSK
modulation="2" 8PSK
so far everything is clear, but then it becomes inconsistent
modulation="3" 8APSK or at least 16APSK
modulation="4" 16APSK or 32APSK
modulation="5" not yet in the lists, considered as 32APSK
Then at least S2X is missing
64APSK maybe modulation="6"
128APSK maybe modulation="7"
256APSK maybe modulation="8"
Let's get to the FEC:
Missing here already in S2 mode
1/4, 1/3, 2/5, 6/7
In S2X mode/QPSK the VU is 13/45, 9/20, 11/20
missing 11/45, 1/4, 4/15, 14/45, 1/3, 2/5, 7/15, 1/2, 8/15, 3/5, 2/3, 32/45, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10
in S2X mode/8PSK 25/36, 13/28**, 23/36, 25/36**
7/15, 8/15, 26/45, 3/5, 2/3, 32/45, 13/18, 3/4, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10 are missing here
in S2X mode/8APSK 5/9-L***, 26/45-L***
in S2X mode/16APSK 1/2L, 8/15L, 5/9L, 26/45, 3/5**, 3/5L, 28/45, 23/36, 2/3L, 25/36, 13/ 18, 7/9, 77/90
7/15, 32/45, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9 are missing here
in S2X mode/32APSK 2/3L, 32/45, 11/15, 7/9**
here 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10, 7/0 are missing
The S2X mode/64APSK is missing completely
32/45L, 11/15, R/5E, 7/9, R/60, 4/5, R/62, 5/6
also the S2X mode/128APSK with
29/45L, 2/3L, 3/4, 7/9
and the S2X mode/256APSK with
31/45L, 32/45, 11/15L, 3/4
** does not correspond to the standard
*** unfortunately no standard information available
Well, something happened with the roll-off factor, but not with the manual settings of the VU.
While 0.20, 0.25 and 0.35 were common for DVB-S and DVB-S2, this has not been extended for S2X either.
Here there are these roll-off factors 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25, 0.35.
More effort is required to make this value linear in a satellites.xml.
I hope that nobody then arbitrarily assigns one of these 6 values to a number and does not even document this,
as there are already cases with modulation.
