ITU Space Explorer Database

  • I used to use ITU Space Networks online database but it seems to have been replaced by ITU Space Explorer. I can't decide if it is better or worse than the old system. As before, much of the information is only available to subscribers. Care needs to be taken to make sure that the data is valid at the time of viewing, click on "Regulatory Status Tracking" to see dates when the craft should be active.

Here is a result for FMS5-45E The closest match I can find is Syracuse 4A but it doesn't match fully. hvdh do you know how to relate the ITU names to more common names or NORAD designations?

  • s-band Sorry I also have trouble to interpret the ITU names.
Only thing I sometimes do, is search for other satellites of a series, to figure out what the ITU name should probably be like.
There was a site comparing the names, geostationary.cz, but it seems offline. Maybe archive.org still has some content.

  • Thanks, I had a look on archive.org but did not see anything that gave the names as used by ITU.

This presentation shows how to use the Explorer
