  • Just a note:

I am experimenting with the TBS6903X and found that CrazyScan refuses to use the card - the SCAN button is not available. This does not happen always, I think, but I have not discovered the reason. Perhaps it is because it gets mixed up with the TBS5580, also connected.

With EBSpro the card works, but doing a blind scan is really slow.

I think that VMA Stream Reader is not slower than EBSpro. In fact, I think the Linear Blind Scan is actually faster (if configured correctly).

So I am not sure how to improve the Windows experience.

I would like to see the performance under Linux/neumoDVB, but honestly I struggled to install and use it. I found it too complicated and I don't have the time and patience right now. This is not to say that neumoDVB is not a great software (which for sure it is) - it is my personal limitation at the moment.

Perhaps someone can share a VM container (VirtualBox would be ideal) with a fully setup neumoDVB, ready to use?

Here is a brief guide on Ubuntu 24.04 on how to work with neumoDVB after installation. I should mention that I am not in a Windows container, but directly on Linux.

You've probably read @deeptho's link on how to install neumoDVB and the drivers, but for others, it's good to know about that link.

I'll also add that some kernels are not optimized for versions 24.04, I think, 6.11.0-24-generic and 6.14.0-29-generic, and probably others as well. :3:

Just tested and working well - 8 simultaneous channels!

    You may have two problems:

    1) Weak receptions

    2) Computer not powerful enough to handle this much data

  • satesco Thanks!

I have it working in a container, I can see the TBS5580, but somehow I don't understand how to scan the transponder:

    ...

It appears I have a bug after the last update to neumodVB. Because of this, when I try to scan, the app crashes on both standards, Cab/Terr.

I need to report this to deeptho. I didn't have time to deal with it; it wasn't a priority for me.

But the setting for the cable is as shown in the picture.

  • I managed to get this far, but how do you the actually start the scan?

  • from DX tab--> then Scan_choose the card

Ob man da bessere Einstellungen findet?

  • femi danke für deinen Vergleichtest. Ich habe auch Mal probiert und finde die TBS6903X ist für einen Scan einfach zu langsam.
