Those waiting for a 5927SE USB version with an S2X extension can now try it out.
The TBS specification lists the following features:
TBS5927SE is the successor of TBS5927, a professional-grade digital satellite TV tuner USB box with USB2.0 connectivity for PCs. s Beyond standard DVB‑ S2X/S2/DVB-S QPSK and 8PSK supported by ordinary satellite receivers, it delivers advanced professional reception modes including ACM, VCM, Multi-Input Stream, 16APSK, 32APSK, Multiple Generic Stream and Combined Single Generic & Single TS — functions unavailable on most mainstream satellite receiving hardware. Equipped with built‑ in hardware blind scan, it features fast automatic blind scan over symbol rates and carrier frequencies, greatly simplifying satellite spectrum exploration. A tristate MPEG TS output interface supports flexible transport-stream export. With dedicated TBS software tools, users can capture these special broadcast streams effortlessly. Official Windows BDA drivers and Linux drivers are both supplied for broad system compatibility.
Although the 5927se driver is incomplete for Windows, I've run a few tests that look promising. We still need to wait until we can use DVB applications on this tuner.
It’s a pity that the StreamReader file cannot yet be used in established applications; only DVB players can be used.
On Linux, the situation is better for the 5927se, and expectations may be met once Deeptho’s driver – which does not yet exist – can be installed for the neumoDVB app, instead of the TBS driver. I carried out an initial test with a symbol rate of 666 on 11465 H at 5.0 W, or with the RAI DAB streamer on 12564 V.
