In Qatar, a new themed channel is being launched that focuses on business and economic news. The channel will broadcast for free via satellite in Ultra HD/4K and HD resolution.

A test broadcast of a new program called QBC (Qatar Business Channel) has now started. The test currently consists of a static screen (colored bars) with the channel's logo.

The QBC test broadcast was launched in the EMENA bundle (Europe + Middle East + North Africa) on the Badr 8 communications satellite.

The 4K distribution was launched in a resolution of 3840x2160p with the HEVC (H.265) codec and optionally 192 kbit/s (MPEG) and 128 kbit/s (EAC3) audio. In HD resolution, it broadcasts in 1920x1080i with MPEG-4 (H.264) and optionally 128 kbit/s (MPEG) and 128 kbit/s (EAC3) audio.

Apparently, some new video and audio versions are being tested.

The video is in AVC High Profile 4.2 (normal and allowed is 4.0) and the audio is 2 channels in ADTS muxing mode.

So if your receiver does not support that, you will have no or poor playback.
