Yes you are lucky Kypros_Pambou, within the footprint!
Express-AM7 has one steerable beam, RSCC site shows example 2 covering W-Africa, now apparently example 1 towards Middle East is used.
Satesco you're next to try!

Oh, hvdh, you're undergoing a test that I can not handle With my "fishing rod"/150 cm dish,I can not catch this "prey" so far from my area :82: And yet with the tool/ IQmonitor ,I talked about today, helped me at least know that I'm not "fishing" in another" water" But I wonder,is it true? This time,I'm caught between doubt and accepting "miracle"
I thought, maybe you have 45 dBW or so, the footprint lines are not so very tight near RO. But I don't know (or forgot) where you are exactly, Black Sea coast or Hungary border makes quite a difference!
You are right, the distance counts when it comes to footprint.Of course, being in the western part of Romania,it's a serious handicap to lock the ME beam. But I could compute this geographic handicap if I had a bigger antenna,as you know.
I must admit that from my point of view,my position/location is well placed for both receptions from the extreme east and west. That's why this position gives me the opportunity to cover the arc from 100.5E-Asiasat 5(elv-0.71°) to 50.0W-Intelsat 29e(elv-2.71°),probably 53.0W-Int 21(0.87°).
