Off topic sorry, observing the spectrum display - just an observation side note and not related to Test - for the last couple of hours this signal from the satellite has been creaping very very slowly up the band. Pretty sure it's off the satellite and not intereference as it tracks accurately with the other signals when going E or W or Elevation adjustments.

  • Interesting, from both CAID's of 2600 it looks like it was a double encoded biss-1 stream. It was not biss-2 as that is with CAID of 2610, not sure about biss-CA?

Would it be possible to receive the signal with an RX8200 and apply the 1st biss CW to it, then output it via the ASI port of the RX8200 to the ASI input port of a second RX8200 and apply the 2nd biss CW to clear the picture? Each RX8200 could act on one layer of biss.

I noticed with an NS3 biss signal that applying the biss CW in the RX8200 and sending the signal out from the RX8200 via the ASI output to other devices, all the biss was removed and other devices receive an unencrypted signal. Perhaps the same logic can be applied here with the double wrapped biss signal?

Infact, these test are not only for fun,

Medium size broadcasters do not really want to swap to BISS 2 for cheap services. Too many encoders and decoders should have to be purchased, then we are working on another solution.

A good, secure enough, reliable cheap BISS would be a possible business.

In theory, yes this is the idea, 2 IRD, but it doesn't work as expected, the ASI output from the 1st IRD remove the BISS CA ID and then the 2IRD see input if it were in the clear.

More test have to be done, 'keep an eye on this thread', it can happen at anytime (or not :26. )

Another test on the 29th or 30th of august, stay tune :3:

Remenber, this is a test with 2 biss code, a main feed in biss recoded in BISS , I will probably provide the "numbers".
