Yes satesco, the coverage maps are in this recent article:
https://www.menadefense.net/20…ions-algerien-alcomsat-1/
Edit: oh, I forgot to check the 4th page, flie answered already.
Best wishes for the near year too.
Thanks flie, thanks hvdh for the link, but something does not fit with the map for Ku-band,which has more Africa's coverage than other areas.Until now only the map for L corresponds to the tests so far.
They will definitely publish more accurate coverage maps after these signal tests are taking place now.
Regards
Hi Satesco
my be there are other test carrier on Ka-band & L-Band? at the same time with ku-band test !
for now ,no thing appear in ku-band !
can you confirm please
I made a better picture of Ku coverage, red line comes above southern Europe, so we probably should see some signals in the future.
Beam still can be corrected.
Thanks marval450, that's a bit easier to look at!
The French wiki page mentions two transmitter antennas for Ku-band, hence there are probably just two beams: Algeria (2 contours) and North Africa (1 contour).
We don't know what this one contour represents, maybe good signals are well outside of it!
And in any case, test carriers always look very strong and promising, with normal DVB-S it can become disappointing.
P.S. edit: the 3 contours represent 45, 55 and 75 cm dish diameter, according some tweet in arabic.
Actually the tests that they are doing now is for the Ku band! That's why I said that there's something wrong with the maps from link(?!?).
For now,I can not perform Ka band tests, because I do not know which of them:A, B, C or D?
However those maps seems more indicative than definitive,or at least to be detailed more clearly.
Sorry satesco, I don't see what you think is wrong.
The maps (Ku, Ka, L) look fine to me, just not very detailed.
Concerning Ka band, the Menadefense.net article talks about internet use, your best bet would be Ka band B, but I don't think these many small spots will have overspill to your location.
There may be military use as well (Ka band C) with unrevealed (larger) footprint but that's just my speculation.
Of course I have exaggerated, but it seems to me that these maps seem to me more sketches than the final ones and of poor quality,as if they did not foresee before the areas would be covered, leaving room for errors of interpretation,as perhaps we do.I hope not :)
For example, the tests so far have proved that the signal is strong on my area, far from the footprintul satellite in the Ku band, which looks like touching the southern part of Europe,at least according to the map given by marval450.
Of course the signal can be different at the time they finish the tests and when they will determine dBW power per zone. Now I think it's hard to know what that power will be.And probably they are now doing not only signal tests but also checking the transponder slots to be used.
To be brief,we have some maps,at least for me they doesn't seem clear. That's why I said that it is better to wait when they will publish coverage maps for the public,if they will post them after finishing the tests?
This is the first GEO satellite of the Algerian operator ASAL, so we don't know if and when better maps will be published.

In due time, Alcomsat-1 should appear under the "Satellites Algeriens" button at the top-right.
thank you all for the good conversation
