You are right.

    The plate is inserted wrong way(H =R, V =L).

All frequencies are shifted +150Mhz. bad LO setting.

    no lock yet...

edit: but not listed in the dstv NIT table.

  • Feedsat I would really appreciate if you could to a bandscan again because this DXer here in Central Peloponnese with 1.80m Famaval and linear LNB has some transmission parameters different from yours that are now more than a week old. So I want to be sure that DSTV Africa has changed the values.

12265V seems also to have been activated since your last scan published here. Can you confirm this ?

Thanks in advance and best regards to all.

OK, no problem I will check it this week end.
But as you can see in my last scan, there is a mux on 12265 V.
    Stay tune for more news....

  • Thanks. That's very kind of you. And yes you're right, 12265V was active in your most actual scan. I missed that because I was looking for a complete scan where all carrier data are shown so that I had seen the one of yours from 10.02.2016 and then 12265V was definitely not active yet.

By the way I've spent some time using your data and EXCALIBUR's from Romania (where Russia Beams are way too strong to interfere with SSA) to list up on the left all the active frequencies of Russia Beams and to the right the active ones from (Subsahara) Africa to make it easier for people between both coverage areas to clear which frequency comes from which Beam. That's why I am looking for most present and accurate transmission parameters of all. I hope that's ok for you ? I will also post the list here if anyone is interested in but right now I am not sure how many mistakes there are since I have no access to both Beams.

Anyway, I look forward in seeing your shots :)

OK, my scans of the day are attached, as you can see, today the signal is not really good (weaker than the 11th of February) but weather conditions are good.

I hope to be able to lock few more freq. , later...

Is the FEC of your non-locked frequencies reliable ?

I am asking because some just locked ones of 36C Africa Beam in the Peloponnese here show different FEC (scan made with a Prof Revolution S2 7500 USB) compared to yours.

    • Offizieller Beitrag

FEC ara 3/4 for QPSK and 2/3 for 8PSK

but during the first days, FEC was 2/3 for QPSK:

  • Yes I have registered that but the scans from Satleo member xristoss1965 are from yesterday so I am confused why the same frequencies show different parameters compared with yours.

    • Offizieller Beitrag

For which frequency you have a doubt ?
I will check it carefully, but if this member czn lock them, the FEC is probably good and not 'mine'.

  • Here we have another fresh scan from Florence with 1.50m. Although there are a few frequencies missing (obviously a bigger dish is necessary) the transmission data on 12130H, 12207H, 12360H (those are not locked by your equipment) is equal to that from xristoss1965. This leads me to believe that the FEC might be not always correct if a frequency is not being locked.

  • Hi deepbluesky,

Although it seems impossible,it would be interesting to find out if someone receives both beams,Russian and SSA!?And in the case of,as I said-impossible,to get both, how looks like the signal on the analyzer?
And yet those in the south-eastern Europe are likely to catch the two beams?

  • Hello satesco,

4W is a similar case where some frequencies are used by Central Europe and Middle East Beams. vladan from Crete gets from both beams frequencies on his 1.80m Offset. You can see clear peaks in CrazyScan but some do not lock. It depends on which one is being received with higher quality. If both are same then there is no lock at all otherwise you get the frequency from that beam that has a much better quality. I also was wondering for a long time if there is a way to seperate the two multiplexes somehow but i got an answer that this is not possible at all. I had the idea in mind of data packages that are sent over networks and can be identified by 100% but something is different over satellite transmission so this mix of waves cannot be separated at all.

    Now to 36E:
Once upon a time with 36A(W4) things were easier since there were no overlapping areas as far as I remember at least with dish sizes up to 3.7m. Either depending on the area one could receive either the SSA or the Russian Beam.
With 36B(W7) the coverage areas came closer. DXers here in S and in particular SW Germany like qwer made bandscans that were showing carriers but if I am not wrong he got some from Russia and others from SSA Beam.

As for the situation now that 36C started transmitting it is much more complex and that is what I am trying to find out but the research is in its initial phase. For SE Europe it is not easy to gather all the necessary data because DXers mostly post in their native language speaking boards. Further on speaking of greek satboards in particular I can tell you that there are just a few DXers dealing with 36E. Although there are reports but not too many yet. Up to now what I can see is that the 36C African Beam goes further East over Greece which in some western and central areas the Russia Beam has become (partly) unreachable. It seems that the overlapping area of both beams is bigger than of 36B. One example is that in Thessaloniki on 1.30m for the first time DSTV Africa frequencies could be locked and in Syros a Gibertini OP150 locked even more. Further South in Crete (just a little bit further East) Russia Beams seems to be stronger. In Cyprus 1m with circular LNB you can easily get 36C Africa Beam but 36B needs much bigger sizes. I am about to find out more.
