Alexander Wiese

If I remember correctly, Alexander Wiese took over the magazine Tele-Satellite Internation, then Tele-Audiovision, from Dr.Dish.His editorials were a summary of news and trends in satellite techniques.

Reading the magazine was a real compensatory treat for those of us in Eastern Europe who didn't have access to many of these gadgets, and the Internet was not so developed.

Alexander Wiese, through his magazine, kept up the interest in all things related to reception, and dxers were brought into the pages of the magazine to be known by many people.

I thank him and will be grateful for all he has done for us.

May he rest in peace.

TSI has been my real "bible" (apart from italian "Eurosat" and "Satellite") for updating my knowledge about satellites, signals, channels, whatever about Hz, Mhz, dB, meters !! Since it disappeared from international market I felt without a reference, a monthly update with tests, charts and so on. I remember that the first thing after buying a new copy of TSI was reading his preface at page 3. I wrote him recently just to ask for a magazine comeback, but now I can understand why he never replied to me. So sad..... For sure his passion for broadcast, dxer and transmission was so strong !

At the age that we didn't have internet, Tele Satellite was the most popular magazine with the British What Satellite TV !!!!
Is very sad when you hear this kind of news.
